Thanks Allah..

Today was supposed to be my result and eventhough the papers didn't go that well I was not that anxious or worried about the result. The minor worry I had was Hamza's result and when the result came it was really satisfying for both of us thanks Allah. The day passed waiting for the result (not really actually). I watched the movie Centurian which was really well plotted. The result came out late in the evening and the most satisfaction i got from was the fact that my parents were so happy about our result. We played a Cricket Match and atlast I scored a century. I made 118 and hamza was not out on 36 over night.

The next day was the 1st ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand. Pakistan asusual performed poorly and were bundled out for 124. NZ chased down the target easily. But what my instincts tell me is that Pakistan will bounce back. Later we resumed our match and I got hamza out on 48. In the next match I again played well and score 78* before declairing. But hamza was good enough to win the match still. At night we watched ICE AGE 3.. At night we went to pizza hut.

Woke up early today as well, offered prayer, read newspaper and then I slept again. Lol :D
After I woke up again hamza, me n tamur watched the movie 10000 B.C which was simply awesome. Mama joined inbetween and we all completed the movie. Later everyone went buzy with their work but I kept on watching movies n saw Ice age 1 n 2 which were nice. Later I played some cricket n was so tired. While reading the novel in the evening I fell asleep and woke up at night to have dinner and then again slept :D

A Happy Day.

It was indeed a happy day. Pakistan won its first series after a gap of FOUR years and it was their first series win overseas after 7 years. Gone are the golden days when winning a series was just a formality. It was a well earned win though, with an inexperienced team, after lots of controversies, new captain, alien conditions, it was a hard work. At one stage it looked as if Pakistan will lose, at the end Pakistan could have easily won but Misbah, as he said at the post match conference, that winning the series was more important than the match. Its a big boost for Pakistan, lets see the ODI's..
My day started with the match. Later we watched a movie and went to Shangrilla Bar'be-cue for dinner.

Earth Quake..

Today I was able to offer prayer. But the light didnt permit me to watch the match so I switched the TV on with UPS. It was a tough day for Pakistan in the field who drop many chances and fielded poorly but it was Umar Gull's day who wrapped up the New zealand innings with late reverse swing, swinging the match slightly in Pakistan's favour. My day was fine, after watching the match Tamur and me played cricket for sometime. In the evening Hamza, tamur and me went to News Corner and I bought a few novels. At night I watched Pink Panther 2 and it was really funny. There was an earth quake later at night and it was horrifying.

Movie Day.

I woke up quiet early today but late enough that I couldn't offer prayer. I watched the match for an hour or so and sadly Younis Khan who was playing really well was given out caught at short leg by a strange decision from the umpire. At the end of the day it was even stevens.
Papa mama went to hospital, sis to college so me, hamza n tamur completed open season 2 n watched the 3rd part as well. The character elliot which was a dear was the best part of the movie and it was fun. Rest of the day was passed just resting and making plans. We again watched a movie in the evening. Later at night when papa was back we just sat near the heater and talked about different subjects. I slept early at around 10:20pm.

The Share of one's own Life.

It was a district somewhere in europe. A man woke up early in the morning and went for a walk near his house. The sun was starting to find its way out from the darkness of night. He saw that a young boy, around 17-18 years old was doing something strange. He bends quickly, picked up something, and threw it in the sea. Looking curiously the man went to the shore. He saw that there were many star fishes on the sand which were pushed here by the sea waves over the course of night. The water was going back now and the star fishes would probably die within a few minutes. That boy was very efficiently picking up the fishes one by one and throwing them into the water again. The man stood there, watched for a couple of minutes and said to the boy; ' Dear boy, there are thousands of fishes here, your little help will not be enough to save them all'. The boy smiled, picked up another star fish, threw it into the water and replied. 'Uncle you are right, but my little help made a difference to this fish. It got a new life, the more lives I save the more will be the difference'.

Cricket time.

The second day of the test match was mostly Pakistan's day and they batted really well except for the last ball at which Taufeeq Umar got out. Australia won the 1st ODI in thrilling fashion.
My day went really good mostly. Woke up early and watched the Cricket match and had 'Aalu k parathay' for breakfast. Then sat in the sun and enjoyed sunlight reading novel. Later we went to meet our cousins and enjoyed alot with my 'four angels'. Papa had lost his cellphone during Hajj so we searched and bought a new one for him and then came back home. Hamza, Me and Tamur played cricket in the evening with me scoring my first run in the 3rd match. Was totally out of touch but managed to score a 50 later :D I bowled really well especially the visious turning delivery at which hamza was clean bowled. Later we watched movies and then after dinner I went to sleep.

A Jewel of Pakistan.

It was second world war when the punjab government imposed 'War tax' on the people. The tax was collected from them and passed to the British government who used it for the care taking of the army. The tax abolished with the end of second World War in 1945 but the Punjab government still had a few lakh rupees of collected tax in their account.
Malik Khizar Hayat Tawana was the Chief Minister of Punjab at that time and he had two choices, either pass the money to the British government or donate it to some other fund of the government. He hit upon an interesting plan and announced that he will send 4 most intelligent students of Punjab for higher studies to UK. Four students were selected and sent to London. In these 4 studens there was one whose father was a low ranked officer in the Dept. Of Education, District Jhang and could never have dreamt of higher studies. He had passed matric in 1940 with record numbers and did his masters from Govt. College Lahore in 1946. He went to London on the expenses of Punjab Government and later on Won a noble prize in Physics. This is the First and Only noble prize of Pakistan and the name of Student was Dr. Abdus Salam.

Note: Dr. Abdus Salam was a 'Qadiyani' and couldn't get much appreciation in Pakistan and shifted to Italy later.

The Series of Unfortunate events Continue.. :D

The bus was half empty on my way to Multan. But still I cudnt sleep because the weather was so beautiful and while crossing the mountains it was raining. Crossing that it was all fog so we reached the terminal as late as 00:30 in the morning. Papa and Tamur had to wait for 2 hours at the terminal. But it was nice to see papa coming to take us once again (No compensation with the Rickshaw drivers this time) :)
We reached home, had dinner. The match had to start at 3am in the morning so I had initially all the plans to stay awake as it was already 2 in the morning but thanks to load shedding I was forced to sleep. Although I woke up at 5am in the morning but sadly in was a lunch break during the match and I had to go back ko sleep again. New Zealand were 98/4 when I switched on the TV in the morning but load shedding again destroyed all the plans. Pakistan had a good day overall but New Zealand are fighting their way back I think and will score in the excess of 300.. Australia won the 2nd T20 after almost throwing it away. And India won a nail biter against South Africa.
My day was drowsy, I couldn't sleep well at night and because of that had headache all day. Got a hair cut as well.. Slept in the evening again and went hoteling at night with family and enjoyed alot. Watched 'Open season 1' (1st of my 50 downloads) and it was fun! Im feeling relax after such a long time ( btw, had a kind of fight with someone special) ppl change don they?!

How did the exams go..

Well lets start with the first paper. The subject was such that no one was able to understand anything about it all these four months. The last day of classes was on tuesday and the first paper was on thursday so there wasn't much time to prepare. Although i tried my best and revised and solved again and again yet still I wasn't able to do well. The second paper was always going to be unexpected as the past experiences tell and thats what exactly happened. The paper was a half disaster, but the Sir is good enough to grade us. The result of this subject was displayed just after 5 days of paper, now thats what u call true speed.
The third paper was well a cheat. The subject teacher did not feed us that advance as was the paper. It was high and wide above everyone and I bet if Sir was himself given such a paper he would'nt have been able to solve it. My fourth paper was, well supposed to be a cake walk but my asusual blunder might ruin it. But overall it went fine.
The fifth paper was a real butter. It was expected, we had the previous year paper and thats what was going to come, and with a few changes thats what it came. Even our supervisor said that 'Now start solving it as I know u people have learn it by heart, because thats what we did. '
My next and the worst part was my last paper. It was easily the most under studied subject and after all this burden of going through exams my limit to study was finished. The second last paper was in the evening and this was early morning next day. So there was no time to prepare. The course was too much. But what I think I have done fine with this, atleast hopefully I might not fail. HOPEFULLY!!!

Something was VERY wrong!

Breaking News: Atlast I'm done with my final exams..
Right now I'm sitting in the bus going back home to Multan. The papers did not start well and ended on a sedate note. I wasn't thinking that I would have such a difficult time during the finals because my preparation was ok if not good. At the same time I wasn't feeling the same space I have during the exams. It was cold no doubt and it was difficult to study, I was sick and that could be a reason, there were seven papers to give that could be an excuse, but the real problem I think was a supernatural one. When ever I tried writing I could not. When ever I tried to memorize something I could not. Whenever I tried concentrating something distracted me. And strangely enough mostly when I wrote the pen stopped writing. I took 4 ball pens to the examination hall yet everyday I had to buy new ones as they stopped writing. Well but still the exams went Ok! Not what I had anticipated but still seeing the circumstances better than what it could have been..

Tougher as It can get!

Last two weeks were perhaps the toughest of my student life. There were quizzes and assignments and projects and presentations and reports and lab vivas and what not!
Since coming back from home it was always going to be tough as my final presentation was just looming around and we had not prepared till yet. So the first and foremost task was to get through it. We actually had not prepared for the presentation at all. Our work on the project is still pending so there was no question what so ever of any progress, anyhow we had to show it so the presentation was made within no time and we did not prepare at all for it. It went on fine with not much questions asked and the faculty asking us to skip most of the part.
The next tension to come was the final lab quizzes that took place right after the final presentations. Thankfully they went on well and I did not have to struggle much for them.
next came the final viva of another subject which was perhaps the one which would have given me most heartthrob but the subject teacher did not bother to take the viva itself and the lab assistant took the viva which was fun afterall.
The last one was the project and the final presentation of another subject and somehow I escaped without the presentation. I was not feeling well since morning and was sitting outside in the sun when my group gave the presentation and thankfully sir did not notice my absence otherwise I would have been in deep waters. The demo was just a formality and passed away successfully :)
The real phase starts now which are my final exams and I have not prepared well for them and will have to work really hard to be successful in that. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best!
